Immediate Relief Tactics (The "Right Now" Menu)
When anxiety peaks, we need to move from the mind back into the body. Choose one:
The 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique: Name 5 things you see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste.
Physiological Sigh: Inhale deeply through the nose, take a second short 'sip' of air at the very top to fully inflate the lungs, then exhale slowly through the mouth. Repeat 3 times.
Cold Water Shock: Splash ice-cold water on your face or hold an ice cube in your hand. This triggers the mammalian dive reflex, which instantly lowers your heart rate.
The "Brain Dump" Timer: Set a timer for 2 minutes and write down every single 'What If' currently looping in your head. Get them out of your body and onto the paper.
